CONNECTICUT — More wet weather - including a potential for thunderstorms - is in the forecast for the state as it moves into an “unsettled” pattern, forecasters say. Michael Main, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said Connecticut has a chance for showers and thunderstorms for the next several days. Connecticut will be in a “busy” weather pattern now through Sunday, with a couple of systems passing through, according to Main.

WATERBURY, CT — A city police officer has been put on administrative duty pending an internal probe into his interaction with individuals after an attempted motor vehicle stop, officials announced Wednesday. A private doorbell video captured the interaction involving the officer, Sebastian Alli. Lt. Ryan Bessette said the officer had been working around 9 p.m. on May 2 when he observed a motor vehicle make an illegal turn in the area of West Main Street at Willow Street.

WATERBURY, CT — An 11-year-old riding a bicycle was hurt Wednesday morning in a collision with a vehicle, police said. The youth sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment, according to Lt. Ryan Bessette. The accident happened around 7:50 a.m. Wednesday on Old Colony Drive. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with police. The investigation into the accident is still ongoing, police said.

WATERBURY, CT — A Wilby High School student is in custody after another student reported seeing him with a firearm on a school bus this morning, according to police. Lt. Ryan Bessette said a student at the Bucks Hill Road school reported to staff around 7:38 a.m. that another student on the school bus had “brandished a firearm.” The report prompted a lockdown and shelter-in-place order at the school, police said. No one was injured.

LEDYARD, CT — A home was destroyed and a pet perished in a fire Tuesday afternoon, fire officials said. No residents or firefighters were injured. Firefighters responded to the house on Lambtown Road Tuesday around 4:51 p.m., according to a Facebook post. When crews arrived on scene, they found a “heavily involved structure” fire, officials said. Firefighters began to make entry for an interior attack, but due to the condition of the house, crews were pulled out.
