    MARATHON CITY, WI (WSAU) — An 18-year-old from Texas is facing multiple charges after officers say he broke into at least two homes in Marathon City, threatening the occupants of one. Benjamin Sanchez is accused of barging into one home Tuesday night and threatening to kill the occupants. When the homeowner called for help, the man fled. Officers chased him down the street, where he entered another home. He was arrested outside that home without further incident.

    MADISON, WI (WSAU) — A Stratford man will serve 11 years in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Joshua Lake was sentenced on Wednesday, three months after he pleaded guilty to the charges in US District Court. In addition to the prison time, he will also serve five years on extended supervision. The 32-year-old sold meth to an undercover informant in February 2024.

    CINCINNATI, OH (WSAU) — Jackson Chourio recorded three hits, including a 2-run home run in the 5th inning, and Quinn Priester allowed just two hits and three walks over five innings to lead Milwaukee in a 9-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday. Chourio finished 3-5 with two RBI and two runs scored. Rhys Hoskins, Brice Turang, and Daz Cameron each added two hits. Camron’s line included his first home run of the season, a two-run shot in the sixth inning.

    STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – After tearing down the old Shopko building in Stevens Point last summer, the city is ready to find its replacement. On Tuesday, officials announced a request for development proposals for part of the former Shopko parking lot. This request will stay open until a proposal is successfully negotiated. All proposal details can be found online. In May 2024, a targeted area master plan for Downtown Stevens Point was approved and recently amended.

    GREEN LAKE, WI (WSAU) — Court action is underway for Ryan Borgwardt, the Green Lake County man who faked his death and fled the United States last summer. The 44-year-old was in court this week, where his defense team announced that they have had meaningful discussions with the state about a plea deal. The parties will return to court next month, and if no such agreement is reached, the judge may schedule the matter for trial.
