HINES(Release issued from the City of Hines)-It is the end of an era!The City of Hines has removed the Big Red Slide from the City Park and donated it to the Harney County Museum for display. The slide was built in 1949, and safety standards have undergone significant changes in the past 76 years, which the slide has not met as it aged. While there are many questions and complaints about why the City had to remove the slide, the answer is simple.

BEND(Released from Central Oregon Drug Enforcement (CODE)-Over the past month or so, Central Oregon Drug Enforcement (CODE) members were conducting a drug investigation which revealed large quantities of cocaine were being distributed in Bend. At approximately noon on May 23rd, 2025, Detectives with the CODE team were conducting surveillance on Pedro Miguel Partida, Detectives observed behavior consistent with a drug deal.

REDMOND(Released from Redmond Police Department)-On May 22, 2025, at approximately 1:49 PM, Redmond Police Department (RPD) Investigators were able to identify Tyler Kane at a location in SW Redmond. Tyler Kane, a 30-year-old-male, was originally sought on Tuesday, May 20. He is wanted on a Probation Violation and several local charges in connection with a domestic violence incident and burglary.

PRINEVILLE(Released from Bureau of Land Management)-Annual campfire restrictions go into effect June 1 on certain BLM-administered lands in central Oregon. Campfires will be prohibited along portions of the Crooked, Deschutes, John Day, and White Rivers, as well as along Lake Billy Chinook and Lake Simtustus. "Our number one goal is protecting public and employee safety," said James Osborne, Fire Management Officer for the BLM Prineville District.
