FRY, Greece -- A strong earthquake rattled the waters just off the Greek island of Crete Tuesday evening, with shaking felt across the region in the middle of the night. The magnitude 6.1 quake struck just before 2 a.m. local time Wednesday (7 p.m. ET Tuesday) and was centered just 10 miles south of Fry, Greece and about 70 miles east of Ágios Nikólaos on Crete, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake was deep, measured at nearly 50 miles below the Earth’s surface.

LAKE LURE, N.C. – A beautiful tribute to pets has returned after devastating flooding from Hurricane Helene last year destroyed the original "Rainbow Bridge" in Western . Lake Lure's Rainbow Bridge, where people could leave the collars of their beloved pets that have died, was washed away from Lake Lure Flowering Bridge, a series of gardens and artist installations that crossed the Broad River and connected the cities of Lake Lure and Chimney Rock.

COOLGARDIE, Aus. – A Mother's Day meteor seen shooting across the night sky on Sunday surprised early risers in Western Australia who witnessed the bright fireball, known as a bolide. Brian Robbins's dash camera video above shows the meteor lighting up the sky above the highway about 30 seconds into the video. The driver said he thought it might have been lightning at first.
