SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Two people who died from in a crash after the vehicle fled from a traffic stop have been identified by the South Dakota Department of Public Safety. A truck fled from the traffic stop on U.S. Highway 18 and it crashed on a curve near mile marker 73 near Oelrichs on Monday night, Feb. 24 in Fall River County. The truck driver, Kyle Daniel Cortier, 28, of Rapid City and passenger Nolan Gage Warrior Jr. 23, of Oglala, died from the crash.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Authorities in Parker are investigating a crash that happened Monday afternoon. Parker Fire Rescue says they were dispatched to a head-on collision between a minivan and a semi, west of Parker on SD Hwy 44. According to reports, the driver of the minivan blew a tire and caused a collision with the semi-trailer. No serious injuries were reported in the crash.

SIOUX FALLS SD (KELO) — The South Dakota Highway Patrol has announced where sobriety checkpoints will be for the month of March. Sobriety checkpoints will be held in 15 different counties. The counties are: Brookings, Clay, Codington, Custer, Edmunds, Fall River, Jackson, Jerauld, Lawrence, Lyman, Meade, Minnehaha, Pennington, Roberts, and Spink. The Department of Public Safety says the checkpoints are designed to encourage people to not drink and drive.
