Just months after it was acquired by Compass, Christie’s International Real Estate has appointed a new president focused on the luxury brand’s growth. On Tuesday, executives announced that Gavin Swartzman would join the brand, leading alongside co-CEOs Mike Golden and Thad Wong. Swartzman will “oversee global expansion and strategy for the luxury real estate network,” according to a news release. Swartzman formerly served as CEO of Toronto-based holdings company Peerage Realty Partners.

The Carolinas and Tennessee have become hotspots for movers in the U.S., a trend driven by shifting priorities that's expected to last. New data from moving and storage company Pods indicated that between January 2024 and March 2025, movers were most drawn to cities in the Southeast and Midwest. State Farm policyholders in California could see an increase in their rates next month after the state’s insurance commissioner approved the insurer’s emergency rate hike request. Earlier this week, Commissioner Ricardo Lara adopted a judge’s ruling that grants the state’s largest insurer a 17% temporary rate increase set to take effect June 1.
