The bill comes after federal workforce cuts, paired with a hiring freeze for federal employees, led to service reductions at weather service offices across the country. The hiring freeze did not impact positions “related to public safety,” but weather service employees were not included in that category.

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics has stopped collecting price data in Lincoln that's used to help calculate the nation's inflation rate. The consumer price index, or CPI, measures the change in average prices that consumers pay for everyday goods and services. Data is collected for the index by recording the prices of goods, like food and cars, and services, like housing and medical care, from around 23,000 retailers and service providers in 75 urban areas.

There are three types of 287(g) agreements. The task force model is the most intensive and the only model to allow deputized officers to conduct immigration enforcement outside of a jail setting. It was previously phased out in 2012, and remained out of use until President Donald Trump took office in January. The jail enforcement model allows deputized officers to interrogate suspected noncitizens who are in custody, issue immigration detainers and serve administrative warrants.

By Molly AshfordAfter a day of agricultural tours across Nebraska and a roundtable with farmers and ranchers from around the state, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins announced a series of policy proposals meant to support small family farms. RT @latimes: ICE expands immigration raids into California's agricultural heartland https://t.co/KlMHBUMBpa

A Homeland Security spox just told me that Glenn Valley was the only ICE operation in Omaha today, despite a handful of reports at other businesses

Tense scene outside of Glenn Valley Foods in Omaha after an immigration raid at the plant. HSI/ICE officers drove with masks on and many recorded the crowd as they drove. The bus people were transported in had boarded up windows. https://t.co/QN077ie4UJ

RT @jeremyjturley: Protesters threw rocks at cars carrying federal agents leaving the raid. https://t.co/FW3j9UDo7J
