More details have been released about the arrest of a St. Joseph man who allegedly threatened students and staff at William Jewell College. Jacob A. Raczkowski, 25, faces a first-degree terroristic threat charge, according to a news release from Liberty Police Department Capt. Matt Kellogg. At 9:45 p.m. Saturday, Liberty communications officers received a call from a man claiming to go by the name “Paul Sanchez,” according to a Clay County probable cause statement for Raczkowski’s arrest.

The event, hosted by the nonprofit Kansas City Pride Community Alliance, typically draws thousands to Theis Park each June to celebrate and support LGBTQ rights in Kansas City. But it was not always that way. The first Pride marches in the U.S. were held in June 1970 on the first anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising in New York. The movement quickly began to spread across the country.
