Mpumalanga law enforcement authorities have launched the provincial Easter Weekend Road Safety Campaign in Mbombela. Traffic volume is expected to increase on the province’s roads as travelers head to different destinations for the Easter long weekend. Over 600 traffic police officials will be deployed throughout the province to monitor traffic flow. The Standerton Magistrate’s Court in Mpumalanga has postponed the case against six Mozambique nationals accused of manufacturing and dealing in illicit drugs. The matter has been adjourned until Friday to verify the age of one of the accused and to secure the services of an interpreter. The suspects were arrested at a warehouse and a farm in the area. Police seized chemicals and machinery with an estimated value of R20 million, believed to be used in the production of illegal substances.

Six people, arrested for alleged manufacturing and dealing in illicit drugs, are expected to appear at the Standerton Court in Mpumalanga on Monday. The Hawks pounced on the suspects at a warehouse and a farm in the area. Chemicals and machinery found at both locations were confiscated. The value of the recovered substances and machinery is estimated to be R20 million. Mpumalanga Hawks Head Nico Gerber says a number of drug-related cases have been reported in Standerton.

Four families in Breyten, Mpumalanga are accusing Ikoti Coal Mine of destroying their houses when they blast at the mine.
