Halff Associates, an engineering consultant for the project, presented a master plan during a meeting on Monday for the design of the park, 1901 FM 646, previously owned by Galveston County. The city council in October 2022 voted in favor of finalizing an agreement with Galveston County Commissioners for the transfer of Lobit Park. The park was donated to the county in 1972.
