The Lethbridge Rebels Spring Hockey Invitational is celebrating its seventh year, and the event has never been stronger. What began as a modest six-team gathering has evolved into one of southern Alberta’s top spring hockey showcases featuring nearly 30 teams and drawing talent from Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Montana. Organizers say the mix of competition and community makes the tournament special.

Down a dusty range road in Vulcan County, Alta., a lifetime of automotive passion sits parked across Gord Nelson’s farmyard. The 63-year-old farmer has spent decades collecting and restoring vintage vehicles, more than 250 in total, turning his property into a car lover’s dream. But after this weekend, he’s saying goodbye to a portion of that collection. Starting Monday, Nelson is putting about 60 vehicles along with parts and farm equipment up for auction in a six-day, no-reserve online sale.

A fixture in the dressing room for over a decade, Ryan has become a beloved part of the team, bringing positivity and energy to players and staff alike. This season, he has pledged to donate $25 for every point he scores to the Canadian CMV Foundation, a cause that is deeply personal to him. RBC Training Ground gives young athletes a chance to test their skills and be scouted by national sport organizations. Athletes tried out at the University of Lethbridge on March 15. The program, now in its 10th year, aims to identify and fund future Olympians, matching them with sports they may have never considered. With 21 Olympians and 14 medals already linked to the program, its success speaks for itself.
