This week, I’m 90% offline because I’m on my honeymoon. Instead of going dark, I handed the keys to Feed Me over to a few friends, kind of like when Johnny Carson would let Joan Rivers fill in for him. The newsletters and comments will be available to all readers this week.

On a Sex and the City tour, part of a friend’s New York-themed birthday week itinerary, I am now the same age as Carrie Bradshaw in the show’s final season (2004), but it is 20 years later.

Andrew J. Greene is holding a “Yes or No” coin in his hand as he leans forward on a leather chair in his bungalow-turned-studio in central Los Angeles. Vintage scales line his mantle, old fortunes are clipped to a note-card tree, and two early ‘90s novelty talking characters—the Yes Man and Whipping Boy—stand by ready to be turned on and either belt out affirmations or take the blame. Choices are abundant, but the artist doesn’t offer answers.

There’s an oft repeated phrase in the design world: “Always start with the rug.” But Michelle R. Smith never really felt bound by this maxim until she embarked on a collaboration with Nordic Knots.

When I studied music composition at the University of California in the 2000s, a new wave of contemporary classical music was on the rise. Max Richter and Jón Þór “Jónsi” Birgisson were at the crest of this wave, and I could sense the students around me wrestling with the influence of their sweeping, minimalist atmospheres. For us, this music created a fresh, liminal space between the atonal music of the academy and the ambient experiments of post-rock.

Nina Kintsurashvili received her art education across remote destinations within Georgia, accompanying her father, Lasha Kintsurashvili, a renowned fresco painter and calligrapher, as he restored decaying works across the country. It was during these travels that the artist developed her own visual language, influenced by Mkhedruli (the curved script of the three Georgian alphabets), religious imagery and iconography, medieval murals, arahceolgy, and frescoes found in cathedrals and monasteries.

Good morning everyone. Yesterday, I threw a party in Brooklyn to celebrate two years of Feed Me. A few hundred people came through throughout the afternoon, and anecdotally, people left with new numbers in their phone with intentions to link and build on all ends of the romantic/professional spectrum. Thank you all for coming and hanging out, thank you Primo for making the most vertically impressive focaccia sandwiches, and to whoever gave me the miso ginger cookies: please reveal yourself.

Good morning everyone. Two things before we begin today:Will any of you be in Miami for Art Basel? I will be making some design changes later this evening to Feed Me before tomorrow’s two-year anniversary letter. You might see them if you’re on the app or desktop version of Substack, but have no fear, these changes are planned.

For our fall issue, and on the heels of Paris Fashion Week and Highsnobiety’s Not In Paris activation, we asked a handful of writers and designers to give us a short essay –– or prose poem or something in between –– about something they found in Paris that changed them. Could be an article of clothing. Could be a phrase. Could be a meal. For Eileen Myles, it was language. For Arisa White, it was a dress. Natasha Stagg wrote about a perfect tee shirt. Ryota Iwai told us about a new tea routine.

Today’s letter includes an updated version of Feed Me’s Ultimate Beauty Black Book (originally published late last year). Interesting people told me their beauty and wellness secrets. It will be paywalled because it contains valuable information, and will be updated frequently because the comment section will be open to paid reader additions.
