FORT COLLINS, Colo. — There is a large police presence at the Foothills Mall in Fort Collins as officers investigate a shooting. Fort Collins Police posted on social media that police are "actively investigating" a shooting at the mall on East Foothills Parkway. The mall is closed, police said, and officers are working to safely release anyone who was sheltered inside. The public is asked to avoid the area.

DENVER — Work begins Sunday on a project to improve and resurface a portion of Interstate 25 that will take months to complete. The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) said in a release that the project addresses a heavily traveled five-mile stretch of I-25 from Alameda to 44th avenues. Work will include new pavement, repaired expansion joints between the roadway and bridges, new signs and restriping. The project will also replace 2,700 linear feet of old concrete barrier segments.

DENVER — The Colorado Rockies' home opener Friday was one of the coldest in team history. 9NEWS Weather Impact Team meteorologist Cory Reppenhagen reports that Friday's game was tied for the second-coldest home opener in Rockies history, with a first-pitch temperature of 37 degrees. The official Denver temperature at 2:11 p.m. was 34 degrees at Denver International Airport.

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. — A stretch of eastbound Interstate 70 is closed in Glenwood Canyon after a rockslide Thursday night. Garfield 9-1-1 posted on social media just after 10 p.m. Thursday that the eastbound lanes of I-70 were closed at mile marker 116, Glenwood Springs, due to a rockslide. No estimate has been given for when it will reopen, but the Colorado Department of Transportation said it is expected to be an extended closure. This is a developing situation.
