Simpsonville families are picking up the pieces after a large fire destroyed multiple homes. Robert Choice recalls the moments he helped his family escape from their home during a fire. "When I was coming back downstairs, I hear our neighbors yelling, 'Get out the house! Get out of the house!' So I open the door, smoke everywhere. So, I'm yelling at kids and my girlfriend, get the kids out of the house," he says, "We noticed the whole — this side was embalmed in flames on the back side.

A bill in the South Carolina Statehouse would make it illegal to use a phone while driving. Master Trooper Michael Ridgeway with the South Carolina Highway Patrol says looking at a phone while driving creates three levels of distraction. "I've [worked] several distracted driving collisions where somebody was distracted on a cellphone and ended up causing a fatality, typically, a total stranger that was affected in this," he said. "It takes your eyes off the road. It distracts you manually.
