LINWOOD — A new 22,500-square-foot veterans outpatient clinic is scheduled to open in mid-September in the Cornerstone Building on Route 9, federal officials said Friday. No exact date has been set, officials said. The facility was originally supposed to open at the end of 2024. It is expected to replace the current 10,000-square-foot facility on New Road in Northfield. The new facility will double the number of examination rooms at the Northfield facility.

ATLANTIC CITY — Three people were arrested the past two weeks in incidents that triggered the involvement of the Police Department's Emergency Response Team. The team consists of the Atlantic City SWAT team, Bomb Squad and Crisis Negotiation Team. Kenneth Epperson Jr., 20, of Atlantic City, was charged with resisting arrest, obstruction of justice, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and eluding after being located by the team June 11. Epperson was wanted by Egg Harbor City police.

A 19-year-old Bridgeton man has been charged with murder in the death of a 20-year-old Millville resident over the weekend, the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office said Thursday. Trasuf J. Bennett was also charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Bennett remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous, the Prosecutor's Office said in a news release.

ATLANTIC CITY — For decades, the waterfront Caspian Point site has sat vacant, but that could soon change. Kushner Companies, the owner of the property, said it hopes to be in front of the city’s Planning Board in the coming months for a project that will feature 180 market-rate units on the 2.5-acre site, bordered by New Hampshire and Caspian avenues. The $52 million project is expected to be shovel-ready by 2026, company officials said.
