The Mountaineer Athletic department announced the winners of the prestigious Creed Awards at the Mountie Awards ceremony on Wednesday (Apr. 30) afternoon. Creed Award WinnersStarted in 2020, the Mansfield athletic department has selected four student-athletes to represent the pillars of the Mansfield University creed. The students were nominated by athletic staff members and were chosen by a committee. The four pillars of our creed are character, scholarship, culture, and service.

The Steve Zegalia Memorial Scholarship has been established through the Mansfield University Mountaineer Foundation to support Mansfield student-athletes. The scholarship was created by Rocco Zegalia, son of Steve Zegalia, along with the Zegalia Memorial Golf Outing committee. “It is a true honor to have a scholarship named after my father as it will allow his legacy to continue within the Mansfield football community,” said Rocco.

The Mansfield Mountaineer Athletic Department have announced their male and female Fall Athletes of the Year for the 2024-25 academic year on Tuesday (Jun. 10) afternoon. Winners were women’s field hockey player Kenedy Stroup and sprint football’s Cahsid Raymond took home his fourth consecutive Athlete of the Year award. Stroup took the field for her final season as a team captain and did not disappoint.
