    Farms, fields and fiber arts will be celebrated June 28-29 in Richmond, when the Richmond Area Historical and Genealogical Society hosts the Heritage Festival. The sixth annual Heritage Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 28 and from noon to 4 p.m. June 29 in the Richmond Historic Village, located at 36045 Park St., in Bailey Park. RAHGS Vice President Don Graham, the chairperson of the festival, said the event is free to attend and will be held rain or shine.

    Kids can learn road safety rules for school bus riding and biking from police in a party atmosphere during an upcoming St. Clair Safety Town event. The fifth annual Safety Town: Community Safety Block Party will be held rain or shine on June 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is hosted by the St. Clair Recreation Department and the St. Clair Police Department. The majority of activities will be held at Greig Park, located at 795 N. Carney Drive in St. Clair.

    The Richmond Recreation Department has a cure for the summertime blues, with a wide range of activities and a camp to keep kids active. A free entertainment series geared toward kids will kick off on June 26 at Beebe Street Park’s pavilion. No registration is required. The park is located at 69310 Beebe St. in the city of Richmond. All the events in this series will begin at 11 a.m., rain or shine. The Michigan Science Center will bring a States of Matter program to the park on June 26.

    Auto racing fans with a need for speed can now win a chance at a NASCAR experience via Stahls Automotive Foundation’s sweepstakes. Stahls General Manager Terri Coppens said Stahls worked with the TapKat company to create this year’s sweepstakes. The sweepstakes is currently open, and the prize is a NASCAR racing experience for two. “I think it is an interesting trip, a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Coppens said. Sweepstakes ticket donations will benefit the Ted Lindsay Foundation.

    Catholics from three northern Macomb County churches will come together in a show of faith on June 22, when they participate in a Corpus Christi Walk With Jesus. Walk Chairperson Emily Seczawa said via email that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the walk hosted by the Merciful Love of Jesus Family of Parishes. She described it as part of a mission to bring Jesus Christ’s presence and love into the heart of the community, as well as an event to serve as a bridge for outreach.
