Dressed in her school ROTC uniform, the popular 18-year-old sat in front of Brisco's desk for a job interview, hoping to start work as a resident caregiver. But the courts haven't approved the proposed agreement, and a larger question over the land's ownership remains unresolved. The dispute stems from a 2019 lawsuit filed by filed by the Belle W. Baruch Foundation against the state of South Carolina.
