One of the premier prep races for the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve is set for Saturday at Oaklawn Park, when the 89th Arkansas Derby will be held. The 1 1/8-mile race has been very influential on the Triple Crown trail this century, sending several horses on to shine in the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes led by 2015 Triple Crown winner American Pharoah and including last year’s 150th Kentucky Derby winner, Mystik Dan.
