Bakers Bouquet brings florist, bakery combo to Conroe

Sarah Moore said she grew up baking with her mother. After running a small cookie business out of their home, they considered what it would look like to one day open a bakery. Thus, in November 2020, Bakers Bouquet opened in Conroe. The business is a floral and bakery shop combo that features cake pops, cookies and cakes alongside offering premade bouquets as well as catering and flower shipments. Moore said while living in Florida, her mom reached out with the business opportunity.

Every day before work, San Cheng began his morning routine with an episode of anime. Desiring to bring something new and authentic to downtown Conroe, Cheng opened Dragon Bowl C in July 2022—a noodle bar restaurant themed after the anime "Dragon Ball Z," he said. The restaurant features dishes that include ramen noodles, stir fry and egg rolls. The restaurant also has an assortment of fruit and milk teas as well as rotating desserts.

Pamela Mallory began with Montgomery ISD in June as the child nutrition director and spoke with Community Impact in late July about her new role. She replaces Lena Neugebauer, who is retiring in August after 25 years of service in MISD. Mallory said her background includes seven years in food service as a cafeteria manager. She said she shifted careers to go into school nutrition, and she spent eight years at Klein ISD before moving over to MISD.

Registration is open for Conroe's youth sports programs as well as its before- and after-school recreation program, according to a July 25 release from the city's parks and recreation department. Magnolia ISD's board of trustees approved the guaranteed maximum price for its third junior high school—a project that was approved in the 2022 bond—to be $70 million. What's happening During a July 17 school board meeting, the school board approved $70 million for Junior High School No. 3, nearly $3 million less than projected, according to Executive Director of Facilities Tim Bruner.
