    MISSOULA, Mont. — The Missoula City Council approved a resolution recognizing the pride flag as an official flag of the city of Missoula at Monday’s meeting. The resolution comes in response to House Bill 819, which Gov. Greg Gianforte signed into law on May 13. The bill prohibits flags on state property that represent a “political viewpoint, including but not limited to flags or banners regarding a political party race, sexual orientation, gender or political ideology” on government property.

    CLINTON, Mont. — Clinton Rural Fire District volunteers and the Missoula Rural Fire District extinguished a fire between Rock Creek and Beavertail at 7 a.m. Sunday. Once on scene, four volunteers and a Missoula Rural Fire District engine worked to put out a vehicle fire from a family traveling through Montana. Crews were able to extinguish the vehicle fire and grass adjacent to the railroad tracks, using about 2,700 gallons of water. No one was injured in the incident.

Michael says the data shows Montana is a top 10 state for employment growth, even though population growth is decreasing.     MISSOULA, Mont. — Ruby Wang, a fifth grade student at Saint Joseph Elementary School in Missoula, is competing in the 100th annual Scripps Spelling Bee this week in Washington, D.C.Excellence at spelling runs in the Wang family, with Ruby following in her sister Cheyene's footsteps. "I saw my sister doing it, and I was like ‘I want to do it, too,’" Ruby said. Ruby's mother says an AI tool called Word AI helps her daughters practice ahead of the competitions.
