    The City of Rockingham has written to the state government requesting temporary closure of Penguin Island to visitors to address the decline in penguin numbers. According to City of Rockingham Mayor Deb Hamblin, the suggestion was made by a ratepayer.     Western Australia's oldest surviving World War II army prisoner of war, Arthur Leggett, has died in Perth aged 106. Mr Leggett fought against the Italian army in Libya in the battles of Bardia and Tobruk. He was captured by Germans during the battle of Crete in 1941, when he was 22 years old, and spent four years in a prisoner of war camp.
