    Tributes have been paid to a man who devoted his life to his family and making others feel welcome in Inverness. George Kong died peacefully in May following a courageous battle with cancer, aged 71. He was a beloved husband, father, Koung Koung (grandfather), brother and friend. Born in Mauritius in 1953, George embodied resilience, kindness, and unwavering dedication, according to his family.

    A 25 year old man has been arrested after a stand-off with police near Beechwood Business Park. Police were called to the address on Old Perth Road just after 2pm yesterday (June 24). There was a still a heavy police presence of armed officers after 8pm. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.20pm on Tuesday, 24 June 2025, police were called to a concern for person at an address on Old Perth Road, near the Beechwood Business Park, Inverness.
