+ Top 100 RP rankings for Saves + Holds leagues in 2024. José Alvarado, Pete Fairbanks, Jeff Hoffman, Raisel Iglesias, Joe Jiménez, Paul Sewald, and Ryne Stanek all had three SV+HLDs this past week. This group is mostly comprised of the usual suspects but it’s nice to see Stanek pitching well and he’s really been a great late off-season addition to that Mariners bullpen that has lost Matt Brash for the year and has yet to see Gregory Santos debut.

+ Top 100 RP rankings for Saves + Holds leagues in 2024. Yency Almonte, Lucas Erceg, Kyle Finnegan, Yimi García, Hunter Harvey, Ryan Helsley, Raisel Iglesias, Mark Leiter Jr., Tyler Rogers and JoJo Romero all had three SV+HLD’s this past week. Almonte has seen an uptick in hold chances with the Cubs bullpen down Julian Merryweather, but I’m not buying into him being a longterm option yet. The 30.6% K rate is nice but it comes with a 14% BB and 8.6% SwStr rate.

Yennier Cano, Tom Cosgrove, Jose Cuas, Raisel Iglesias, José Leclerc, Carmen Mlodzinski, Bryan Shaw, and Gregory Soto led all relievers with 3 SV+HLD’s this past week. Some interesting names on this list as you can tell we are in the final week of the season, but everyone here has a chance to contribute one last save or hold this weekend. Below are the SV+HLD leaders for the season as we enter the final weekend of play.

Happy All-Star day to everyone and for the list during the break this week, I’ve shuffled some names around based of first half xStats (including the entire season to date as well as the past two months only) which has created some Tier 2 mayhem. It’s truly one of the deepest closer groups we have ever seen, as there are 15-16 closers (Evan Phillips would be in Tier 2 if I didn’t get the feeling the Dodgers will trade for a potential closer) here I would be more than happy with as my top closer.

  • May 23, 2023 | pitcherlist.com | Rick Graham |Félix Bautista |Raisel Iglesias |Pierce Johnson

Checking in on Félix Bautista in his second full MLB season, and the one thing that jumps off the page is the increased walk rate, going from 9.1% last season to 16.3% currently. I’d like to see that get back to under 10% but I’m also not surprised by this development giving that hitters now have a book on him and realize he has no command of his splitter (as is the case with most pitchers who throw a splitter).
