STAMFORD — A local food pantry will be able to add $5,000 worth of provisions to its giveaway program thanks to a Stamford-based media company. Spectrum, a suite of communications services offered by Charter Communications Inc., has donated $5,000 from its national community philanthropic program to the Bridgeport Islamic Community Center. The money will be used to support the food box distribution program at the Stamford Islamic Center, which distributes food every Sunday out of its 379 West Ave.

The rally is one of several, including one in Hartford on Sunday, being held to let Ukraine and its allies know that local residents and governments still support their cause, organizers of Friday's event said.
