Troopers said it's the intersection where 17-year-old Tyler Bishop was hit and killed Wednesday night while trying to turn left onto Greenpond Road from Simmons Road.On Friday, troopers confirmed Barrett Hastings Power was charged in the crash with felony driving under the influence, resulting in death.

A Lander University student suddenly died on Saturday at the age of 20. According to his family, Benjamin Osei was a junior at Lander University in Greenwood and was set to graduate in the spring of 2026. Osei's family said he died suddenly on Saturday after he was taken to the hospital when he became ill but had no prior signs or symptoms of sickness. "It was very, super, super devastating," Osei's brother David said.
