Warren Burrell has been appointed Harrogate Town’s club captain after putting pen to paper on a new contract. The versatile 34-year-old, whose deal was due to expire this summer, has agreed to stay at Wetherby Road for another two years and replaces the outgoing Josh Falkingham in the role of skipper. A player whose 430-game association with the club stretches all the way back to 2009 is no stranger to the armband having worn it numerous times during his two spells with the Sulphurites.

Levi Sutton has signed a new contract at Harrogate Town, which will keep him at Wetherby Road for another year. The former Bradford City man has followed experienced goalkeeper Mark Oxley in agreeing to stay put in North Yorkshire, just over a week after striker Josh March opted to leave the club to join League Two rivals Crewe Alexandra.

Harrogate Town boss Simon Weaver has described rookie striker Tom Cursons as a "breath of fresh air" and says he is confident that the young forward can go on and enjoy a big 2025/26 season. The 23-year-old, who joined the League Two Sulphurites in January following a red-hot spell with seventh-tier Ilkeston, showed real signs of promise during his first five months as a professional footballer.
