STATE COLLEGE - Penn State's annual Blue-White Game means a lot of things to a lot of people. Students sit in the stands to socialize, barely glancing at the action on the field. Alumni use the annual intrasquad scrimmage to meet friends from their college days during informal weekend reunions. Only the most passionate fans take mental notes on who the third-team right guard might be. But there was something sobering about this year's Blue-White Game.

STATE COLLEGE – Syracuse wide receiver Trebor Pena, who caught nine touchdown passes last season, announced Saturday that he was transferring to Penn State. Pena’s announcement, which came a few hours before the annual Blue-White Game at Beaver Stadium, gives the Nittany Lions a boost at a position where they’ve struggled the last two seasons. The 6-0, 184-pound Pena caught 84 passes for 941 yards last season and was named to the All-Atlantic Conference second team.

Here are five things to know about Penn State’s annual Blue-White Game, which concludes spring practice and is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Beaver Stadium:1. What will it look like? The intrasquad scrimmage will not be a game, per se. It will start with two “skelly” periods, during which backs and receivers will go against linebackers and defensive backs.
