ITV News Meridian's Richard Slee has been speaking to police about the targeted action. Police officers have caught dozens of drivers breaking the law while patrolling around Bournemouth and Poole in a lorry cab. In total, 120 offences were detected. The most common was not wearing a seatbelt, with 45 offences. 33 people were seen using a mobile phone whist driving and 10 motorists were deemed not to be in proper control of their vehicle.

One year on from the oil spill in Poole Harbour, the company responsible for the incident says it has taken steps to prevent it happening again. A huge clear up operation was needed to deal with about 200 barrels of water contaminated with oil which escaped from a pipeline at the Wytch Farm oil field. In a statement the operator of the oil field, Perenco UK, says the cause of the oil spill was microbial corrosion in a buried pipeline and the recovery phase had been "successfully concluded".
