    Federal law enforcement officials and the Michigan State Police have set up a perimeter at a residence in Goetzville, in the eastern U-P , after a U-S Marshal was shot this morning [Wednesday]. Marshals said they were attempting to recover two critically endangered youths and arrest Giovanni McNab when the suspect exited the house, shot at officers, and fled back inside the residence. They say McNab is wanted in Missouri for charges of abduction and parental kidnapping.

    Former counterintelligence official William Evanina said the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) will use Gotion Inc.’s electronic-vehicle battery plant near Big Rapids for spy operations during his sworn testimony on Wednesday to the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party. Evanina served as the director of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center (NCSC) from 2014-2021 under former Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump.
