BEDMINSTER — The Somerset County Health Department found 18 health violations during an inspection of President Donald Trump's golf club in Bedminster last month, according to a published report. The luxurious establishment on Lamington Road received a score of 32 out of 100 in the May 6 inspection. That was the lowest score of any of the more than 100 eateries in Somerset County, Forbes reported. Only one other place got a score lower than 60.

SPRINGFIELD (Burlington) — A grand jury has indicted a New Jersey State Police detective in connection with a fatal 2023 crash that followed a high-speed chase, according to authorities. Det. Mark Campagna is charged with fourth-degree endangering another person, the Attorney General's Office said on Tuesday. The indictment stems from a June 20, 2023 crash on Route 206 through Springfield Township in Burlington County. It was handed down on Monday.

TRENTON — Gov. Murphy has signed a new law to give police in New Jersey another way to crack down on rowdy teenagers who want to disrupt carnivals, malls, and shore towns. On Monday, Murphy signed a bill to create the new crime of inciting a public brawl. It's a fourth-degree offense; the punishment could be up to 18 months behind bars. It also upgrades the penalties for disorderly conduct at public gatherings or events, especially if they wear a mask or disguise to conceal their identity.

RIVERSIDE — A mystery man on horseback is being held as a hero for catching a driver who slammed into a vehicle and tried to get away in Burlington County, according to police. It happened in Riverside on Saturday morning, according to Riverside police. A woman who lived at a home on Middleton Street said she heard a loud crash outside on the street, police said.

SECAUCUS — A North Jersey man is charged with two counts of attempted murder after shooting at police officers this past weekend, according to authorities. Dhanraj Dass, 59, of Jersey City, was arrested on Sunday night, Secaucus police said. Police got a 911 call around 7:45 p.m. Sunday night that said a woman's phone was taken by a person she knew, according to police. The suspect had also threatened her inside an apartment on County Avenue, police said.
