Ozark — The Iberia Rangers have a chance to do something very few baseball teams have ever done: finish a season undefeated and with a State Championship. Iberia took down Tipton, 5-1, Monday at Ozark Mountain Sports Complex. Rangers received great pitching from Tanner Patterson, who pitched a complete game and notched 13 strikeouts on the mound. Iberia now sits at 27-0 and will play Maysville for a Class 2 State Championship at 1 pm on Tuesday.

Josh Buffington has resigned as the head basketball coach at Jefferson City High School. Buffington told his players in a team meeting on the morning of Monday, March 18. "This was not an overnight decision, but it was my decision," Buffington said, "and the decision of my family. It's simply time for me and my family to move on."Buffington led the Jays to the state Final Four for the second straight season.

Drew Morris a Jefferson City native who works for the Chiefs in their graphic design department. He's in Las Vegas with the team and has been working for them for three years. He also worked for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when they won a Super Bowl championship, so he has two Super Bowl rings. If the Chiefs win, he could have three Super Bowl rings.

The University of Missouri Football Tigers had a great year, and they are ending it on a good note. The final Associated Press poll came out on Tuesday, and the Tigers ended the year at #8. Mizzou had an 11-2 season, ending with a Cotton Bowl championship win over Ohio State in late December. It's the 10th time that Missouri has ended a season in the Top Ten, and the first time since 2013. Missouri is one of four SEC schools to finish in the top ten this year.

Eric Thomas will become the new head football coach at Jefferson City High School. The Jefferson City School District announced on Monday afternoon that the former Jay football player and 1993 JCHS graduate will take over, pending formal board approval. “As a longtime coach, I’m excited to bring a unique set of skills, passion, and experience to Jefferson City High School,” Thomas said.
Westminster College announces new football coach

Westminster College announced their new football coach. During a press conference, school officials announced Luke Butts would take over for John Welty. Butts will come to Westminster from Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois. He worked as the school’s defensive coordinator and as the linebackers’ coach. He also directed the cornerbacks. While Butts was the head coach for Lake Forest, the team won the Midwest Conference Championship in 2021 and 2022.
