COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (WOWT) - Casino gambling arrived in Council Bluffs in January of 1995 with the Kanesville Queen docking on the Missouri River, followed closely by the Ameristar Riverboat. At the time, casinos were only allowed in two places: locations with an established dog or horse racing track, or on the water. But in 2007, Iowa’s state law changed, allowing for land-based casino gambling.

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - City crews in Omaha began picking up storm debris at dawn's early light Monday. A crew near 42nd and Wirt streets made quick work of a pile of limbs. They were clearing the area bounded by Bedford on the north and Lake St. on the south, from 36th to 52nd streets right behind Benson High School. But, there was more out here than anyone originally thought. "The decision was made to start Thursday at about noon (Monday).

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The Sage brothers served together on the U.S.S. Frank E. Evans during the Vietnam War. In June 1969, their ship collided with an Australian aircraft carrier. The three brothers and Gary Hodgson were among 74 killed. 6 News spoke with Eunice Sage, the brothers' mother, in 1999 after a memorial was dedicated to them in Niobrara. "Gary was the oldest. He was 16 months older than Greg," she said. "Greg was two years (and) three months older than Kelly Jo. That was awful.
