It's a different type of Broadway transfer. The playhouse on Broadway in Minneapolis where Prince had his first professional concert is getting a new leader, and it's someone who got her kicks in on Broadway in New York. Maija Garcia, who choreographed "Fela!" with Bill T. Jones in Times Square and directed the international tour of that musical before moving to Minnesota to work at the Guthrie Theater, has been named the new director of the Capri Theater.

Talk about a full circle moment. When actor Julia Ennen saw the Broadway production of "Frozen" in March 2020 a week before the coronavirus shutdown, she got to go onstage because of friends working at the theater. Looking out into those stage lights launched her into a reverie of joy and wonder. Ennen has been obsessed with the story since the film came out in 2013, dressing up in "Frozen" costumes and wearing out the soundtrack.

Days after a poignant memorial to late president and artistic director Michael Brindisi, who died Feb. 5 and left his stamp on the company that he ran for 37 years, the nation's largest dinner theater announced that it has elevated one of his closest artistic collaborators to the top spot.
