LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Vegas Golden Knights are looking to improve their offense for the second half of the season so they signed a veteran forward to a one-year contract, the team announced Friday. The team signed Brandon Saad for the remainder of the 2024-2025 season. Saad is 32 years old and has played with four NHL teams, most recently with the St. Louis Blues, but most notably with the Chicago Blackhawks where he won the Stanley Cup twice in 2013 and 2015.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The College of Southern Nevada has made some waves in the world of Junior College basketball. The CSN Coyotes are one of the top scoring teams in the nation, averaging 96 points per game. On Jan. 22 they beat Community Christian College 158-68. The team patterns its “run ‘n gun” style after the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels of the 80’s and early 90’s. Coaches Mike Lee and Che’ Jones are longtime Las Vegans who know those teams well.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Vegas Golden Knights are on a quick two-game road trip to St. Louis and Dallas this week. Before he left, Knights goalie Adin Hill spoke with 8 News Now about the new paint scheme on his helmet. “I wanted to go a little more gold base on this one. and, oh, gold on the cage. and then on the cowboys, we put a little sword instead of a gun, just like a Vegas Knights touch,” Hill said.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — As fires devastated southern California, a family from Las Vegas recalled their experience with a deadly California blaze. Jack and Janet Reisner remembered the smell of smoke on that early 2017 morning that would change their lives forever. “We were woken up out of a dead sleep,” said Janet. “A ball of flame came over, landed in the banana tree, and it exploded into flame,” recalled Jack, adding that it was then that he determined it was time to leave the house.
