    It has been confirmed today (Thursday, June 19) that the 32-year-old vessel will return to dry dock in the coming days. The ageing ship, which has been out of action for 18 months, had been due to resume sailings on the Ardrossan-Brodick route this month. However, gearbox problems identified during recent sea trials pushed back the dates back multiple times. The latest setback is the next stage of efforts to resolve a pressure issue with the vessel’s propulsion system.

    Work on a verge running alongside the A737 Dalry Bypass has been paused since April due to the contractor encountering "more complex conditions than anticipated". The project initially got underway in March but was halted just weeks later - and it is now set to resume at the end of this month. Signs have appeared on a stretch of the route between the Hillend and Highfield roundabouts in recent days warning of impending roadworks.
