AN intriguing collection of over 200 sculptures have been unveiled at Beaulieu marking the launch of a three-month exhibition. Displayed on the lawns of Palace House, the kitchen gardens and a wildlife meadow area; the vibrant showcase of work by 47 locally renowned and internationally acclaimed sculptors was officially opened by Lord Montagu during a launch event on Thursday.

Debbie Head has been operating her ‘Milford on Ice’ van close to the junction of New Lane and Salt Grass Lane for the last 12 years, but with parking rules set to come in later this summer she feared she would be stopped.

FEEDER, Happy Mondays and reggae legends UB40 are set to headline next month’s Poole Harbour Festival. Hailed as one of the one of the south’s biggest and busiest summer music festivals, it will showcase 60 acts across five stages – the most in the event’s 10-year history. Taking place from 25th to 27th July the three-day party at Baiter Park in Poole is expected to attract around 15,000 visitors.

THE Forest’s new waste collection system has come under further fire after photos emerged of donkeys eating food waste from ‘stock-proof’ bins. The images, which also show food waste strewn across the road in Brockenhurst, circulated barely a week after the bins’ introduction and come less than a month since commoners warned that Forest animals could contract dangerous diseases under the new system.

A SPECIAL production of Mary Poppins in the Forest produced by Sway Drama Club has been highly commended in the NODA awards for the south-east. Mary Poppins in the Forest was written by village resident Simon Hanney, and featured a cast of members and creatives from four local drama groups. Simon said: “As part of Sway Carnival, and after an absence of many years, Sway Drama Club decided to put on a brand new, never-been-seen-before production.
