The Birmingham Zoo is glowing over their recent addition of a baby giraffe named Mopane. According to the zoo, more than 8,000 people recently voted on a name and chose Mopane. Pronounced “Mo-Paw-Nee,” the name represents an African tree with leaves eaten by giraffes.

    SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - Susie and Micky Price are two volunteers who travel across the country to ensure that animals reach their next destination. This week’s destination is South Carolina to deliver 14 puppies in hopes of helping find them a forever home after the Shelby County Humane Society (SCHS) ran out of space. The SCHS needed a place for the puppies, so they made some phone calls and found a rescue shelter in South Carolina that could help.
