Three women have been assessed by paramedics after being bitten by dingoes on K'gari just days before the Easter school holidays begin. A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said the women, aged in their 20s, were on a tour of the heritage-listed island when they were attacked at around 2:30pm on Tuesday. A coking coal mine on "prime agricultural land" is unlikely to go ahead after the Queensland government found it was "not in the public interest". Homes have been evacuated and a two-kilometre exclusion zone has been set up around a fiery truck crash on the Bruce Highway in central Queensland. Emergency crews are at the scene of the head-on collision between a B-double tanker and a ute at Bororen, north of Miriam Vale, which happened just after 5am.
