A group called Rethink Industrial Solar is pushing against plans to install solar panels on 2500 acres of farmland near North Liberty. A full house gathered at Thursday night's meeting regarding the proposed 300-megawatt solar farm in North Liberty. Amanda Mitchell who started Rethink Industrial Solar is concerned about its close proximity to Potato Creek State Park.
Man who rescues boy from St. Joseph River in Elkhart speaks out

ELKHART, Ind. -- Police say a two-year-old boy was rescued from the St. Joseph River Wednesday afternoon. One bystander is being hailed as a hero Wednesday when he saw a two-year-old boy floating in the St. Joseph River. That man acting, jumping into the river, and grabbing the child, despite the strong current. “From what I know now, two years old like that's terrible and to hear he's still alive, that makes it all good, yeah, I'm basically crying right now,” said bystander.
Large fire engulfs two homes

BRISTOL, Ind. -- Two houses caught fire Monday afternoon with five different agencies on scene, working to control the flames. As of now, no injuries have been reported. Firefighters were out here for over five hours trying to battle this blaze. It’s not exactly clear how this fire started, but residents out here say one of the houses that went up in flames had some historical significance.

The New Carlisle community had the opportunity to enjoy good food, have fun with family and friends, and the best part, see some trucks sliding in mud all for a good cause. Mud racing, a Michiana pastime, and racers brought their tricked-out cars to participate in the annual Memorial Day weekend mud bog. Mud flying everywhere as cars trek across the 180-foot stretch of muddy terrain.

SOUTH BEND, Ind -- A bittersweet day here in South Bend. The South Bend Motor Speedway had their last lap today, celebrating the final races of its final season. Over 125 cars and lots of fans enjoying the final races before it closes after 77 years as a community staple. One of those racers Saige Hanna was on the track with her car called pixie dust, she’s been racing for 5 years following in her grandfather's footsteps of racing.
