ANN ARBOR – Michigan junior offensive lineman Nathan Efobi could have become frustrated. A four-star recruit out of South Forsyth High in Georgia, he only played two offensive snaps over his first two seasons in Ann Arbor, both coming late in games with starters on the bench. As a true freshman, Efobi sat behind all-Big Ten guards Trevor Keegan and Zak Zinter. Last season, senior Giovanni El-Hadi and graduate transfer Josh Priebe cemented themselves as the starting guards.

Michigan’s football program has been quiet on the recruiting trail this spring in terms of adding to its 2026 class, but there is still ample time to make noise this cycle. The Wolverines currently have three commitments in 2026, with only one coming since last October. They welcomed dozens of visitors on campus over the past month and will have a large contingent on hand for Saturday’s spring game at Michigan Stadium, but their efforts have yet to pay off in terms of a verbal pledge.

ANN ARBOR – Joe Taylor wasn’t planning on playing football in college. Although he starred in football and baseball for Chelsea High School, he originally committed to walk on for Michigan’s baseball team in July 2020. Nearly five years later, Taylor is on track to play the most special teams snaps in the history of Wolverines football. The fifth-year senior has totaled 723 in his career – all in the past three seasons – and needs 164 more in 2025 to break Jordan Glasgow’s record.

Michigan’s hockey program has added another defenseman as it continues to reshape its blue line for the 2025-26 season. Cornell sophomore Ben Robertson announced his commitment to the Wolverines on Tuesday in a post on social media. The 5-foot-11 left-handed shot reached the NCAA Tournament both years for the Big Red. He tied a program rookie record for most points by a freshman defenseman with 23 in 2023-24, tallying five goals and 18 assists.
