Blake Bustard should have never played college football in 2021. He was not medically cleared to do so and the school admitted it was a mistake, according to his lawyer. Bustard did take the field for five games that season, burning what could have been a redshirt. He wants that year back, and he’s battling the NCAA in court to get it. A matchup announced more than 10 years ago will finally take place this fall, as two of the most storied programs in college football meet for the first time in nearly 50 years. Michigan visits Oklahoma on Sep. 6 for a primetime early-season showdown (7:30 p.m. ET, ABC). It will be Michigan’s first true road game against an SEC team in program history. The Sooners, sixth in college football history in all-time wins, went just 6-7 last season, Brent Venables’ third as coach.
