    A 24-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a peace officer and driving under the influence on Sunday, according to officials from the California Highway Patrol Newhall-area Office.  According to Officer Josh Greengard, a spokesman for the CHP’s Newhall office, at approximately 8:47 a.m. the CHP received a 911 call detailing a one-vehicle crash on the northbound side of Interstate 5 at Magic Mountain Parkway.

    At the time of this publication, over 20,357 blankets have been delivered to those in need of the feeling of love and warmth by the Santa Clarita chapter of Project Linus. Volunteers from all different backgrounds came together on Saturday for the bi-annual “Make A Blanket Day” to continue these efforts, one cut and tie at a time.

    The “S” on the hill next to Saugus High School is something no one can miss on their drive from Canyon Country to Saugus and vice versa.  It stands as a symbol of Centurion pride for the school.  However, throughout the years the outdoor weather conditions have caused major wear and tear on the dozens of boards that comprise the “S.” A few years ago, the Centurion blue “S” was outlined with white paint, but now in 2023 it was in need of a fresh coat.

    Charlene Lewis’ family dogs were always general ranch dogs and trail companions. As Lewis’ passions took her to horseback riding, they began to follow behind happily.  Teaching others how to ride horseback got Lewis to thinking about a skill she wanted to teach herself – dog agility.  Lewis and her mother Tammmy Robinson drove to New Mexico to pick up two Australian shepherd puppies.

    Kaiser Permanente and a health care workers’ union reached a tentative deal on Friday, meeting the demands of higher wages and promises of increased staffing.  Nurses, doctors, optometrists, pharmacists and receptionists stood beside the union coalition in the demands for higher pay, a solution for staff shortages, protections against outsourcing and earlier notice in the case of remote workers being called to work in person. This followed the expiration of the workers’ union contract on Sept. 30.
