GRESHAM, Ore. — A 13-year-old boy was killed by gunfire that penetrated a neighboring apartment where he was sleeping early Sunday morning, according to the Gresham Police Department. Officers responded to reports of a shooting on Southwest 11th Street near Highland Drive shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, police said. Upon arrival, they determined a shooting had occurred inside an apartment with multiple rounds penetrating through walls into an adjacent unit.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Frederick Moore was sentenced to 17.5 years in prison on on Friday for intentionally hitting and killing a pedestrian with his truck in 2022 near Eastport Plaza, the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office announced on Sunday. Multnomah County Judge Andrew Lavin followed the state and the victim's family's recommendation, imposing 10 years for manslaughter in the first degree and 7.5 years for attempted manslaughter in the second degree.
MAX Blue Line service in east Portland disrupted for two weeks by TriMet project

PORTLAND, Ore. — TriMet has begun a two-week construction project along the MAX Blue Line east of the Gateway/NE 99th Ave Transit Center, the transit agency announced. The project, running through May 10, will require shuttle buses to replace train service in affected areas. Buses will arrive approximately every 10 minutes throughout most of the day, according to TriMet.

VANCOUVER, Wash. — A trapped passenger has to be rescued after a sedan rolled over in east Vancouver Sunday morning, according to the Vancouver Fire Department. Fire crews responded at 11:28 a.m. to a single-vehicle rollover just east of 172nd Avenue on Northeast Ward Road, the department reported. Battalion Chief 2 and Engine 4 arrived to find a sedan on its top with one person trapped inside. The driver had managed to escape from the car and was uninjured, officials said.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Police are investigating after a body was discovered Sunday morning in North Portland near Legacy Emanuel hospital, the Portland Police Bureau reported. Portland police responded at around 7:04 a.m. to reports of a body found near the intersection of Flint Avenue and North Tillamook Street, in a grassy area adjacent to Interstate 5, according to police. Officers arrived at the location and confirmed the person was dead, the bureau said.

Officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired in the 4700 block of Southwest 11th Street shortly after 1:30 a.m., police said. Upon arrival, officers found two people suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment, according to authorities.
