In a press release, the Missouri Department of Corrections said 73-year-old Conrad Schmitt III died at Mercy South Hospital on Tuesday, May 6. Schmitt was convicted of first-degree murder in 1998 and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

LOUIS — The family of a teenage boy shot and killed by a St. Louis police officer in June of 2024 has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the officer and the city. The boy, whose name was not released by police or included in the lawsuit, was shot in the head while running away from a stolen vehicle following a police pursuit on June 18.

LOUIS — St. Louis police are looking for four people suspected of breaking into a bar and another business in less than 15 minutes. According to a news release from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the suspects were seen using a brick to break into Hidden Gem Bar and Sophie’s Artist Lounge in the early morning hours of April 27.
