Probation extended for alcohol violations

Shane L. Krebs faced the Honorable Donna Taylor in the Antelope County courtroom in Neligh on Aug. 21 for a revocation of probation hearing. Krebs was placed on an 12-month term of probation Sept. 6, 2023, for a conviction of driving under the influence of alcohol. On Aug. 24, Krebs submitted to a chemical test that was positive for alcohol. He admitted consuming at a tractor pull.
Ewing woman files appeal

A Ewing woman, who was recently convicted and sentenced in July to a three-year term of probation for a Class 3A felony count of making terroristic threats on Oct. 8, 2023, has filed an appeal with the Nebraska Court of Appeals. Jessica J. Snyder, 42, filed the appeal with the Nebraska Court of Appeals on July 15.
O'Neill woman sentenced to time served

Kelsey L. Alder, 35, of O’Neill appeared in front of the Honorable Mark Kozisec Monday, Aug. 26, for a bond modification hearing in the Holt County district courtroom in O’Neill. A plea bargain was announced and Alder pleaded guilty to an amended charge filed May 13, by Holt County attorney Brent Kelly, third-degree assault, a Class 1 misdemeanor, reduced from a Class 3 felony, terroristic threats.
Sentencings set in drug cases

Joaquin S. Echeverria, 28, of Brenham, Texas, (in custody) appeared for pretrial hearing on a Class 1C felony, possession of more than 28 grams of methamphetamine, with intent to deliver. Pursuant to a plea agreement with Antelope County Attorney Joe Smith, Escheverria pleaded guilty to an amended charge, attempted possession with intent to deliver, a Class 2 felony. Kube ordered a presentence investigation and set sentencing Oct. 30. Escheverria is represented by Carney.
Post-release supervision continued for Lincoln man

The Honorable James Kube, ruling from the Antelope County District Court bench in Neligh last week, decided to keep post-release supervision in effect as ordered for a former Lincoln man. Darrion J. Cescolini, 30, appeared on information to revoke PRS that began when he was released from prison in May. Cescolini waived his right to counsel and admitted an allegation that led to his arrest in Lancaster County for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Marine pleads guilty, fined for intimidation

In a long-running Antelope County Court case that included many continuances while he was serving in the military, Julius Tauber, 22, was sentenced last week at the courthouse in Neligh for a crime committed Sept. 17, 2022. After entering a plea agreement with Antelope County Attorney Joe Smith, Tauber pleaded guilty on Aug. 21, to one of two counts of intimidation by telephone call. Smith dismissed the second count and agreed not to oppose a fine-only sentence.
Chambers man sentenced for criminal mischief, trespassing

Karsen L. Peterson, 22, of Chambers appeared in front of the Honorable Kale Burdick last Tuesday, Aug. 13, in the Holt County courtroom in O’Neill for sentencing on crimes committed nearly one year ago - Count I, second-degree criminal trespass, a Class 3 misdemeanor, and Count II, criminal mischief, $1,500-$4,999, a Class1 misdemeanor.

Two Holt County men waived preliminary hearings and were bound over to the Holt County District Court when they faced the Honorable Kale Burdick in the Holt County courtroom in O’Neill recently. Both are represented by Holt County public defender Rod Smith and have arraignment hearings scheduled Aug. 26 in the district courtroom. Ray A. Bahm, 56, of Chambers was bound over Aug.

The Honorable Kale Burdick signed warrants for the arrests of four individuals during the first two weeks of August. Dylan E. Mullenburg, 29, of O’Neill is wanted on nine counts, three of them Class 3A felonies, third-offense driving under the influence of alcohol, high test, child abuse and false imprisonment. He is also charged with transporting a child while intoxicated, willful reckless driving, criminal mischief, two counts of leaving the scene of accidents and false reporting.

A young Holt County man will spend more time in the state prison. Ethan J. Peterson, 20, Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, Lincoln, who was. already serving consecutive sentences from Holt and Pierce counties, was back in the Holt County district courtroom in O’Neill last Monday, Aug. 12, to be sentenced for crimes committed Dec. 15, 2023.
