BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is reminding Alabama residents that the REAL ID Act of 2005 will go into effect on May 7, 2025. Authorities say this means Alabamians planning to fly domestic in the United States, or enter certain federal facilities, will need a REAL ID-compliant driver license (known as STAR ID in Alabama) or another acceptable form of identification, such as a passport. In 2012, Alabama began offering STAR IDs statewide.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC/Gray News) - A healthy 13-pound baby was born at Grandview Medical Center in Alabama on Tuesday morning. Paris Halo made her entrance into the world at 7:21 a.m. to mother Pamela Mann. According to Grandview Medical Center, baby Paris weighed in at 13 pounds, 4 ounces and measured 22 inches long. Paris is in the neonatal intensive care unit for some extra love and care while her mom is spending some time in the hospital, but the medical team both of doing great.
