Lansing area lawmakers have requested more than half a billion dollars in earmarks for Michigan's next budget. Michigan State House Speaker Matt Hall, a Republican from Richland Township, required all Michigan House members to submit forms explaining exactly what they were requesting money for. Hall told reporters in February that only about $100 million of the budget would go towards lawmaker's requests.
