BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Jefferson County District Attorney Danny Carr recently gave WBRC a clinic on how the wheels of justice move. It got us thinking about the sheer volume of cases after Birmingham Police announced a round up of more than 200 suspects in one month alone - more than 100 were felony arrests. All of those suspects, before their day in court, are considered innocent until proven guilty and the law protects their right to due process and the right to a speedy trial.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - A reminder for college students to make sure you can vote in the 2024 presidential election. It’s an exciting time for students heading off to college and in that excitement, it may be easy to forget to make sure you have that fundamental right to vote. A number of college students have been turned away from polls because that’s not where they are registered to vote. So applying for an absentee ballot now will keep that from happening.
