(WGHP) — The family of Isabelle Lawson, who died in the crash over the weekend that sparked the fire at Caudill’s Electric Company, spoke with FOX8. “I understand everything that happened. Everyone is upset about the building, but the building is replaceable. My sister isn’t,” Vanessa Lawson said. The Lawson family said addiction, mental health and bad influences are the deadly combination that led to the situation on Saturday. Isabelle is accused of stealing a Corvette.

FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) – The Winston-Salem Forsyth County School district faces the daunting task of solving a $42 million budget deficit. The school board was able to move a few things around to come up with a couple million dollars, but, now, they are looking at the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners to fund the remaining $32 million.

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. (WGHP) — A woman died in a crash in a stolen vehicle in Kernersville on Saturday night hours before a historic building burned down, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol. The building was recognized as a historical Kernersville structure, built in 1897 as the Harmon and Reid Mill before becoming Caudill’s Electrical Company in recent years.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — The landscape downtown is changing with the Bellemeade Street Parking Deck under demolition, and the city announced that another parking deck on Davie Street will close at the end of this year. Several people said they are concerned that this could cause issues and deter them from coming downtown, but the city staff assured the city council on Thursday that there is still plenty of parking to go around. The Bellemeade Street Parking Deck is about one-third demolished.
